John Sellars comes to ICT Advisor with 30 years experience of being in the IT Industry and more importantly he explains here what it all means now.
John says "Happily coinciding with my undergraduate days, the world changed forever when the microprocessor appeared - and it has continued to change ever since - often at a breathtaking pace. This journey has affected us all and it's a ride which we just can't get off.
My personal path has led me to this place where I believe that I have something to offer to help shape the future and make things better - we all have real opportunities for better communications, better businesses, better environments and, indeed, better lives.
When a group of like-minded individuals came together in January 2006, there was a vision of an organisation which could deliver what we all felt so passionate about. That organisation has arrived and it is ICT Advisor.com. The rest of my journey begins here and I look forward to guiding and shaping a future which makes things better for all of us.

John Sellars journey thus far:
John Sellars graduated with Honours in Control Systems Engineering in 1976 (followed by a Masters Degree in the early 1980s) and a varied and successful career in ICT has followed.
John has worked in the public and private sectors and also in academia.
Since those early days, when the emerging, digital technologies were becoming adopted as the clear future for modern Control Systems, John easily mapped his education and training into the dawning era of Information Technology.
The summarised career timeline followed:
Defence Industry (British Aerospace): Working on the leading weapon and fighter aircraft guidance systems
Heavy Engineering Industry: Leading the IT development for major international projects.
Research in the University of Sheffield - Computer Generated Holography and Medical Physics (body imaging).
Many years in various industries, both public and private as IT Manager/Director.
Recent years have seen John as an independent ICT Consultant working with a hugely varied client base in many industries and countries.
John is and accredited IT Expert for the European Commission and is often called to Brussels to engage with major European IT initiatives.
